当你快要坐下时，切记要用手把椅子拉后一些才坐下，如果用脚把椅子推开，这样就表现出你是一个很粗鲁的人，因此，你还是动手自已把椅子拉开才坐下。小姐们若有男友同行时则不必自己动手拉椅子了，因为这是男友的责任。
最得体的入座方式是从左侧入座。当椅子被拉开后，身体在几乎要碰到桌子的距离站直，领位者会把椅子推进来，腿弯碰到后面的椅子时，就可以坐下来了。入座后坐姿要端正，不可用手托腮或将双臂肘放在桌上。坐时脚应踏在本人座位下，不可随意伸出，影响别人。不可玩弄桌上酒杯、盘碗、刀叉、楔子等餐具，不要用餐巾或口纸擦餐具，以免使人认为餐具不洁。
