What is the Williams Lake Association for Community Living?
An accredited, non-profit organization established in 1961 and registered under the Societies Act. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community members. Our funding comes from Community Living BC, and we receive donations from the community. we are a member of the BCACL and the Central Interior Community services Co-op.
Our Goals Are&
Our primary goal is community inclusion for all persons in the areas of leisure, employment, residential and education.
Our Philosophy
The Williams Lake Association for Community Living recognizes the inherent value of each person and supports each person in their decisions and choices in life. The Association is committed to supporting individuals in developing independence and inclusion in our community in any aspect of life chosen by the person.
It is the underlying aim of this society to assist people in achieving their greatest level of independence.

The vision of the WLCBIA is to make a positive difference in the growth and development of the downtown.&Further, the WLCBIA will continue to promote strategies that will encourage the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown to ensure it is accessible for all, where both youth and seniors feel safe and comfortable, and to create an area both beautiful and vibrant that is welcoming to both entrepreneurs and the public alike.&Development of strategies and services are based on the following values and principles:
To act as the voice of downtown business
To provide downtown attractions to encourage traffic
To encourage development and enhance services
To create a welcome home feel within its boundaries
To build a community of partnerships and professional liaisons to provide services and resources to members.
