  Hugo Primozic was born in 1914 in W&rttemberg, Germany to a German mother and a Slovenian father. He enlisted with the German army in May 1934 and joined the Artillery. During the Polish campaign he was part of the 152nd Artillery Regiment of the 52nd Infantry Division.

  After serving in the French campaign, he rotated through several reserve and replacement positions including a posting at the Artillery school in J&terbog. After graduating, he was sent to join the 667th Sturmgeschutz (assault gun) battalion. He was given command of a platoon of Stug assault guns in the 2nd battery of the 667th.

  After bitter fighting in August and September, the 667th halted several heavy Soviet attacks near Rzhev but was subsequently pulled back due to heavy casualties. Then on the 15th of September, the Soviets launched another massive attack. Primozic only had his platoon of three Stugs at his disposal which he promptly moved forward to face the assault.

  As they approached under cover, Primozic halted his platoon and dismounted to scout out the situation facing his small force. Once this was complete, he moved his Stugs into concealed positions on the flank of the advancing Soviets tanks.

  As Primozic&s platoon moved into firing positions, one of the Soviet T-34s apparently spotted Primozic and quickly swung its turret round and fired. By luck, despite the short range of the shot, the round bounced off. The Stug fired a heartbeat later destroying the T-34. Primozic's platoon began to pour fire into the sides and rear of the Soviet tanks. As the Soviets began to return fire, Primozic ordered his Stugs to pull back from their previously concealed positions and relocate to new firing positions to the left of their location. The Stugs low profile, speed and concealed positions made this manoeuvre possible despite enemy fire.

  While Primozic had been moving, the Soviet tank had begun advancing towards his platoon and had closed the range so that the nearest T-34s were now only 300 yards (275 meters) well within optimal firing range for a T-34. Additionally, his platoon spotted KV-1 heavy tanks moving up to support the stalled T-34s. His Stug was hit by a round from a KV-1 which did no damage however Primozic&s gunner likewise bounced his shot off of the KV-1. It was now a straight reload race as the first to reload and fire accurately would likely destroy the other. The Stug's 75mm roared and the KV-1 shuddered to a halt gushing smoke.

  The fighting continued with the heavily outnumbered platoon continuing to inflict damage on the T-34s and KV-1 heavy tanks until the Soviets began to retreat. The platoon had flanked the Soviet advance and used the covered, rolling terrain to maximum advantage to halt the soviet attack and destroy over 24 tanks during the engagement.

  From the 15th through the 28th, Primozic and his platoon continued to fight with their battalion in repelling repeated Soviet attacks in the Rzhev vicinity. On the 28th of September, Primozic&s platoon was assigned to cover the extreme flank of their division and they proceeded to hold their position against repeated attacks conducted by Soviet tanks with infantry support. Primozic&s Stugs held their ground until they had literally fired off all of their ammunition and then attempted to withdraw to avoid being encircled. Before his platoon could disengage, Primozic left his vehicle while under fire with a steel tow cable and attached it to an immobilized Stug in his platoon to tow it from the battlefield using his own vehicle. Upon returning to his Stug, he personally covered the successful withdrawal of both vehicles against infantry attack with a machine gun.

  In the five months from September 1942 to January 1943, Hugo Primozic destroyed 60 enemy tanks and was awarded both the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross and the Oak Leaves. Hugo Primozic was the first non commissioned officer in the Wehrmacht to be awarded the Oak Leaves to the Knight&s Cross and one of only seven NCOs in total to receive the Oak Leaves.

  He received his officer&s commission in February 1943 and served as an instructor until 1945 when his training unit was deployed to face the advancing Americans on the Western front. Primozic was captured by American forces on May 8th, 1945 and survived the war. He died on the 18th of March 1996 in Fulda Germany.

坦克世界新物理引擎体验 坦克移动更加真实
  Hello everyone,  大家好,  as you probably already know, the new motion physics test was started in themorning & you can check the details here.  众所周知,新的物理引擎测试已经在上午开始测试了.  All I can say about is& go try it, because it&s really hard todescribe the feeling with which the tanks handle now & and no, videos don&thelp either. You really have to feel it.  对于到底感觉如何,我只能说只可意会不可言传。看视频也没用。  I&ll try to describe it a bit anyway though, as best as I can.  但是善良的我尽可能用言语来描述一点。  First thing you&ll notice (apart from the laggy server, morethan usual anyway) is that the tank movement (any tank really) is more& I don&tknow, fluid. No longer does the tank react in a &choppy& manner (as if you wereturning a tank toy with your hand instead of a real tank). Those, who areafraid of too many &drifting& tanks (like in War Thunder) can rest easy though,the tanks don&t have terrible tendencies to drift and the turning is quiteaccurate. If I was to compare it to something, I might think WG got heavilyinspired by Armored Warfare alpha (there the movement feels just as fluid), butconsidering how long this feature was developed, I&d say it&s simply a case ofparallel development, that reached roughly the same goals.  第一点,你会很快注意到(这里不说有延迟的服务器,只说正常的)坦克跑得更加的行云流水了,姑且用这个词吧(我也姑且这么翻译)。坦克运动不再&生硬&(好像你是在用手玩坦克玩具而不是真的坦克)。那些被漂移雷霆恶心吐的同学可以放宽心思,人家跑得还是挺精准的。我觉得WG受到了装甲战争的启发(俩游戏玩着觉得有着似曾相识的感觉),但是鉴于两游戏的开发时间,应该是同一时间平行开发,但是心有灵犀。  Basic movement forward and backwards however has a MAJOR change& first, some tanks accelerate much slower. This is especially visible onPanzer IV & it feels much more sluggish. Second, what is worse is that theybrake much slower as well. It feels completely different than the usual WoT andI suspect the braking (if implemented like this) will cause huge issues toplayers, who are used to current model. It happened to me in practically everybattle that I was planning to hide behind an obstacle and I used the &usual&routine to brake, only to end up meters behind the obstacle, because I didn&tcount in the intertia.  主要的前后移动的时刻是个大变化。首先有些坦克加速明显变慢。四号坦克就是代表中的代表,典型中的典型,那个反应迟钝简直酸爽。第二,更糟糕的是刹车也变得更加慢了。和现在的wot比起来天差地别,如果正式运行的时候还是这样,wg你就等着炸锅吧。基本每一次,当我打算藏在掩体后的时候,基本都只离掩体几米,因为我没有把惯性也计算进去。  Next feature is the handbrake. As far as I am concerned, it hasone major flaw. There is no special sound effect for its use (connected tosliding tracks for example, tank equivalent of &screeching tyres&). As such,it&s pretty hard to determine, whether your tank is already &slipping& or notand therefore it&s also hard to create a perfectly controlled drift. And yes,tanks do drift a lot, especially the light ones, but even for heavy tanks, onsome surfaces (Himmelsdorf cobblestones), the tank behaves a bit like on ice &not as bad as in War Thunder, but enough for you to notice and be annoyed.Other than that, the handbrake works exactly as advertised & it locks yourtrack. Some tanks can use it to make VERY sharp hull turns even in lower speed& this might become a balance issue: where you previously managed to destroy anenemy by circling around it, it&s possible that due to this new mechanism, theenemy will keep up with your circling (as I learned the hard way in theAMX-13/90).  另外一个特点就是手刹车。就我的体验,有个很明显瑕疵。刹车的时候没有任何的特殊声音。同样的,这感觉很难讲清楚,你很难判断你的坦克有没有&滑行&,而且也很难控制你坦克的漂移。是的,坦克经常做漂移,尤其是比较轻的那些,但是甚至有些重坦,在某些图如锡默尔斯多夫,坦克就像在冰上开---虽然不像wt那样糟糕,但是足够让你砸键盘。除此之外,手刹如其名---真的把你锁住了。一些坦克可以甚至在低速的时候做出相当明显的车体转向,这点可以在某种程度上达成一种平衡:到你要绕死某车的时候,由于新的机制,被绕车辆可以一直跟着你,比如我用1390绕人的时候那酸爽。  Speaking of Himmelsdorf & I noticed a very nasty feature of thenew physics there. Basically, running into some obstacles (houses, barricades,stones, but even corpses) makes (instead of locking you on them likepreviously) your tank sort of &bounce& from them, resulting in (sometimesdrastic) hull turns & an example: in IS-3, I was going backwards to be stoppedby a mound of rubble (you know, one of the ones in the banana corridor onHimmesdorf map). Instead of being stopped by it, the tank &slid& off it,angling the hull by cca 30 degrees, much to the amusement of another IS-3 thatwas shooting me.  说到锡默尔斯多夫---我注意到新的物理引擎一个很恶心的地方。一半来说当跑着撞到一些掩体的时候(房子,路障,石头,甚至坦克残骸的时候),他们会把你的坦克&弹&开,这就会导致(有时候很明显的)车体转向---一个例子:当我is-3要跑到锡默尔斯多夫的碎石堆后时,我撞了上去,然后不是按照常理的停了下来,而是车体转了30度出去了,然后对面的is-3艹我艹的很开心。  Pushing& tanks are now much easier to push around. I don&t haveto tell you how annoying it is for lighter tanks. What is strange is that thisapplies to corpses as well. Actually, it looks good, now corpses are no longer&stones&, they can be thrown around a bit, looks very fancy.  现在,推坦克变得也更容易了。我是不会告诉你这对轻弹来说有多蛋疼。最经典的时候连坦克残骸都推动了,残骸不再仅仅是&石头&,人家也可以慢慢推动了,看着真tmd科幻。  Climbing& the vehicles can get on all sorts of obstacles now.How that will influence the gameplay (for example mediums getting throughmountains previously inaccessible), I have no idea. Unless you push someone off thecliff or some really strange coincidence occurs, it&s not easy to do &just so&.As such, I&d discount this mechanism as mostly marginal, you won&t be trippingvehicles on roofs on regular basis.  翻车,我已经玩了很多遍了,包括尝试让敌人坦克翻车。除非你把某人推下悬崖或者啥巧合出现,否则很难实现。我基本忽视这个变化,在基本路面上几乎不可能。  Conclusion  It&s neither good or bad, it is new. Personally, I don&t know.Some parts of this new movement mechanism are very good, especially:  结论  这不是好事也不是啥坏事,是新的东西。个人来讲,我不确定。有些新的运动机制是相当不错的,特别是:  - tank movement is very fluid, tanks no longer get stuck on evensmall obstacles, let alone rails  坦克移动不再生硬,越来越真实。  - handbrake works (needs the sound effect though)  手刹车很好(但是要有声音啊)  - different behavior on different terrains  不同地形会有不同的表现  - better terrain passability for lighter vehicles (can climb on obstacles)  对于轻的坦克来说地面通行能力变强了(可以爬到障碍物上)  Some however are bad & and by bad I mean anything from &needs atweak& to &WTF is this shit& level:  有些地方是不好的---这些分为&需要改进&到&wqnmlgb&的水平。  - no handbrake sound effect as I mentioned (yes, it ISimportant)  刹车没声音(对我来说很重要)  - some surfaces are way too slippery  有些地方太滑了。  - braking is way too slow, some vehicles have way too much intertia and players,used to current system will not get used to this easily (they will passobstacles and get themselves open to enemy fire)  刹车太慢,有些坦克惯性太大,玩家肯定不习惯,比以前麻烦太多。(很可能直接越过障碍物,暴露在敌人火力下)  - acceleration of some tanks is much slower (Panzer IV)  某些坦克比如四号的加速太tmd慢了。  - hitting an obstacle (stone, wall, corpse) can make your vehicle seriouslychange direction, resulting in you being shot because you are suddenly notbehind cover anymore  撞到障碍物(石头,墙,残骸)可以让你坦克明显改变位置,这导致你突然不再掩体后了。  It&s a good start. Personally, I&d remove more inertia from thetanks and fix the obstacles, for starters.  新的物理引擎是个好的开始。如果要改进的话,个人而言,我觉应该从改善车辆惯性和修复障碍物问题开始。
